Green Belt

IOSL has also developed a Green Initiatives around the entire Fuel Farm Facility. The Green Belt consists of plant species that have been planted by different people whoever visits IOSL.

The main objective of setting up a green belt is to mitigate fugitive emissions or accidental releases of gases, control soil erosion, to facilitate waste water utilization, control noise pollution and to improve the aesthetic view of the Fuel Farm

Fast growing large evergreen Plantations at IOSL, large leaf index and resistance to pollutants.

Adaptable to Agro-geo climatic conditions to preserve the ecological balance of the region.

More than 206 varieties of plants, which are locally adaptable, have been planted in the green belt and rain water harvesting also done in Fuel Farm.
